Dear friends,

Over the last few months, as COVID-19 has tightened its grip on the world and St. Louis, we have all been faced with many new difficult and life altering realities and decisions.

After deep consideration and many conversations, the WNBR-STL planning team has made the difficult decision to postpone the 13th annual World Naked Bike Ride – St. Louis to July 17, 2021.

The safety and experience of our riders has always been the most important focus for us and we feel the decision to postpone to 2021 is the right one and is in everyone’s best interest. The event takes 6 months to plan and thousands of dollars to execute. Based on the extreme disruption the pandemic has had, we simply don’t feel that it is feasible or responsible for us to move forward and put the safety of riders, crew, and community at risk.

While we all wish we could joyfully ride through STL as always, instead we’ll plan on making the 2021 ride even better and truly look forward to safely enjoying it with all of you.

And in an effort to keep the spirit of the World Naked Bike Ride alive, keep you moving and elevate your spirit a bit, we invite you to join us on social media for a series of fun weekly activities you can participate in on your own time with just your bike, that beautiful engine that is your body, a helmet and a mask of course! The first challenge will be posted next week, so please stay tuned, stay strong and stay healthy!

Celebrating bicycle power and the beauty of people World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international clothing-optional people powered event that highlights the vulnerability of cyclists everywhere, decries society’s dependence on pollution-based transport and promotes positive body image. It’s also just a lot of fun!

The event is bare-as-you-dare; anything from body paint to underwear to fanciful costumes are encouraged. Due to legal restrictions in St. Louis, full frontal nudity is at your own risk, but many participants do go all out. Large-scale body painting is typically available pre-ride, and personal expression is encouraged.

St. Louis’s past events drew over 2000 riders, and covered over ten miles of high visibility city areas.
Blessed by decent summer weather in a great cycling city, the event has grown into a fantastic rolling celebration, complete with a massive afterparty. Participants often describe it as a transcendent group experience, personally transforming, and beyond superlative. 2019 marks the 12th anniversary of the World Naked Bike Ride in St Louis.

  1. Meet and greet is a great idea. For those of us who aren’t exactly local I won’t be able to attend. Would be nice if there was a similar event on the weekend of the ride.

  2. I would love to participate in the World Naked Bike Ride in St. Louis. I am blind so I would need to find a Captain for a tandem bike. I would also like to find somewhere in St. Louis to rent a tandem bike instead of shipping mine in (I am in Kentucky). I am in great shape (training for an Ironman) so this ride would not be difficult for me. It looks like an awesome event!
